1.-Set realistic goals.😊
Define the objectives, as this will determine the rest of the plan. At this point, we need to think about what we want to achieve with social media and, above all, understand that business objectives and marketing objectives are entirely different. For example, do we want to generate more leads, increase the number of followers, raise awareness, or get to know our audience? 👩💼
2.-Determine which metrics interest us. 🙌
Objectives will determine the metrics. For each goal, we will need a related metric that will help us know if the strategy is working or not. 👍 For example, a goal may be to increase conversions. To fulfill this goal, we decide to run a campaign that includes ads, product information, and influencers. To measure this, we must determine how we will track social traffic and the conversion rate metric of those posts in website analytics. 📈
3.-What audience do we want to have? 👥
One of the most common mistakes companies make on social media is thinking that more followers are better, regardless of their quality. This is one of the biggest issues with brands that buy fake followers since they don't engage. 👀 If we intend to run an influencer marketing campaign, we need to ensure we have influencers whose audience aligns with our target market. 😌
4.-What works for the competition? 🤨
To do this, we should:
• Identify the social media strategy of our competitors: What platforms are they present on? ✍️
• Review their profiles: What kind of messages do they convey in their bios? What images do they use? 📝
• Analyze the content they publish: Do they share their own content or also industry blogs and news? Do they use images, video, or other media? How often and when do they post? How often do they interact? 🧐
• Monitor changes: We should regularly monitor them to see if they are changing their strategies. 👩💻
5.-What is our budget? 💰
A social media budget is a document that specifies how much we plan to spend on these platforms over a specific time. 💱
• Content creation: This includes photographs and images, video production, production costs, graphic design, copywriting, editing, etc. 🎬📸
• Paid campaigns: Initially, we may not invest much in social ads, but sooner or later, we will have to. For this, we should include in the budget all those campaigns and their channels: Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, Linkedin Ads, Pinterest Ads, Twitter Ads, Snapchat Ads, TikTok Ads, etc. 📲
• Influencer Marketing: It's a good way to expand the reach of our social content. Therefore, we should consider how much we will spend to boost influencer posts and how much we will pay content creators. 🗣
